There is something refreshing about the new year – we start to set goals, create mood boards, and overall prepare ourselves for the exciting twelve months ahead. But if you want to make the start of your new year a bit more personal, here are your 2023 astrological predictions along with some practical steps you can take as we begin the new year.
*Pro Tip: Remember to look at not only your sun sign, but also your moon and rising!
This year is going to be all about finding yourself. You can prepare by starting to take a step back from the things that are bothering you and question how you can better understand yourself. You will be faced with many opportunities that challenge you, forcing you to look inward and transforming you into the best version of yourself.
How Aries Can Prepare: Get yourself a journal to write in everyday (even if it's just for 5 minutes in the morning or before bed). This will help you organize and reflect your thoughts.
2022 was especially difficult for you, so I‘m happy to say that 2023 is your year! You are going to become your best self this year, and with that comes many transformations. This may be in the form of progressing in your career, moving to another city or entering a new relationship. No matter what it is, your life is going to make some positive changes.
How Taurus Can Prepare: 2022 really prepared you for 2023. I would suggest creating a mood board or vision board so the universe knows which area of your life you really want to focus on transforming. After all, seeing is believing!
Meeting new people and being exposed to new ideas, thoughts and passions is in store for you this 2023. You tend to become bored easily so the universe is giving you lots of newness to indulge in.
How Gemini Can Prepare: Your challenge this year will be to remain open-minded. Start the year by trying something new. This will excite you and prepare you for your exciting journeys ahead.
This year is all about your career. If you're confused about which path you want to take, 2023 is going to show you your options. You will be placed in situations that will help guide you to find the answers you've been seeking. If you are in a career that you already enjoy, 2023 may have a promotion in store for you. And if you are in a career path that does not bring you joy, or causes you confusion, this year may have you change paths.
How Cancer Can Prepare: Open yourself to applying to jobs that you‘re interested in – if you have no idea what you want to do, create a pros and cons list. A new hobby can help guide you in the right direction.
Similar to Taurus and Scorpio placements, 2022 was presented a lot of challenges for you. 2023 will be a lot better, with a huge emphasis your love life. You are going to find love within yourself and those around you. If you are not currently in a relationship, you may find that special someone by the end of this year!
How Leo Can Prepare: Put yourself out there! You have kept to yourself more than usual in 2022, so this year you are going to feel more comfortable being uncomfortable. I encourage you to do something that scares you.
You have been working extremely hard and that hard work is about to pay off. 2023 is going to focus on your education and finances. This year is going to fill you with knowledge both in and out of the classroom. That‘s right, Virgo, you will be traveling this year! You may even come into financial abundance, which can be directly correlated to you or your partner.
How Virgo Can Prepare: Be patient and stop worrying. Make a list of new travel destinations, as well!
This year will be all about strengthening your relationships and new love. If you are currently in a relationship, you may get engaged or married this year. And if you aren‘t in a relationship, you may enter one very soon! Similar to Leo, your theme this year is all about love.
How Libra Can Prepare: If you are single, take the time to understand what you want in a future partnership. And if you are currently in a relationship, see how you can make that relationship stronger and more stable.
2023 is all about a heightened sense of energy for you. Various aspects of your life such as work and love will be at the forefront, and the energy that you are feeling is what will help propel you in the right direction.
How Scorpio Can Prepare: Romanticize your everyday life. Becoming excited by the smallest things will fuel your newfound energy.
During the first few months of this year, you will be extremely lucky! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to manifest your perfect life. For those of you who are creatives, you should focus on your craft as your creativity could bring you financial abundance this year.
How Sagittarius Can Prepare: Create! Whatever your talent is, start working on it!
You are an incredibly hard working, so I‘m excited to say that 2023 has a lot of travel in store for you.
How Capricorn Can Prepare: Make a list of any travel destinations you want to visit this year. If you enjoy planning, plan out your itinerary – but remember to leave some room for spontaneity!
2022 felt very restrictive for many of you. Luckily, 2023 will be the opposite. You will feel free. This year you will feel comfortable being yourself and doing the things you truly want to do. No more worrying about what others might think of you.
How Aquarius Can Prepare: This year will focus on loving and being yourself, so indulge in self care – spend time reintroducing yourself to your environment.
The first few months of 2023 will be your lucky girl era. Use this time to manifest and tell the universe what you really want. Work hard towards any goals you have set for yourself.
How Pisces Can Prepare: Just remember that anything is possible. Make a list or mood board of what you want to achieve, then go for it!

Fashion is a big part of our day-to-day lives. We dress in a particular way to show others who we are or to make a good impression, but sometimes finding our footing in the fashion world can be seriously stressful! Trends are constantly changing. What’s in? What’s out? How do we keep up? And more importantly, how do we discover our personal style amidst the ever-changing fashion climate? What if I told you it’s easier than you think and you don’t have to do a lot of research to find the answers.
Aesthetics & Astrology
Cue your birth chart! Your birth chart is where you ask questions when you want to know something about yourself. And it just so happens that your Venus placement can help define your true aesthetic. So quit saving potential Pinterest outfits because I’m about to break down your personal style according to your Venus sign.
Venus & You
Venus is the planet of love, ruled by both Taurus and Libra. Venus eludes feminine energy, romance and aesthetic. When you’re looking for a potential partner, knowing your Venus sign is super beneficial because often those with compatible Venus signs (for example a Pisces and Scorpio Venus) make great partners.
Aside from love, you can also use your Venus sign to enhance your style, feel more confident and attract others. You can find your Venus sign in your birth chart, represented by this symbol ♀.
Think Bold
With your Venus in Aries, you know what you want. Your aesthetic is bold and unapologetic. You attract those around you because you’re real and your style should be authentic to you. Try adding in bright accents of color to your wardrobe. If you’re the type to wear all black you might be questioning my advice, but trust me you will love it.
Trendsetter
As a Taurus Venus, your love language is likely gifts. You are a true material girl and fashion is something that comes easily to you. You love to indulge in self care through retail therapy and you are always on top of the new.
Adventurous
With a Venus in Gemini you're interested in many styles. The best part about you is that you have the confidence to try on anything. So if you’re currently feeling stuck between what to wear, try putting pieces together that you normally wouldn’t. You're super creative, so you can pull it off!
Comfort
If your Venus is in Cancer comfort is a huge part of your aesthetic. You enjoy fall and winter fashion most because 'tis the season of oversized sweaters and fuzzy blankets. Don’t be afraid to go out in what makes you feel the most comfortable and confident.
Captivating
Having a Leo Venus means you always want to look your best. You strive to be the center of attention (even if you don't realize it). Whenever you’re putting together an outfit, you're notorious for "never having anything to wear." Similar to Taurus Venus, you are a trendsetter. Your aesthetic emulates "it-girl."
Clean
If your Venus is in Virgo, you can be picky about your partners as well as your style. I mean, you have high standards. You often have a hard time finding clothes you feel are worth buying. This is a combination of your particularity and constant questioning – "Does this really look good?" You’ll benefit from earthy tones and find inspiration from the oh-so-popular "clean girl aesthetic."
Romantic
If you have your Venus in Libra, you have the ability to effortlessly draw people in. This can feel like both a blessing and a curse, as you’re able to pull off anything. A romantic, feminine aesthetic will bring you the most self love and peace. Similar to Pisces Venus, finding style inspiration from your favorite TV shows and movies is super beneficial for you.
Vintage
With a Venus in Scorpio you like to keep your love life hidden from everyone else, but you still wear your heart on your sleeve and will always be there for those you love. You find vintage fashion to be the most interesting because of the mystery surrounding each item. I don’t need to tell you how thrifting and going to markets will brighten your aesthetic, you already do it.
Risk-taking
With your Venus in Sagittarius you crave adventure! You're not afraid of trying something new and often feel fulfilled by jumping out of your comfort zone. I encourage you to try to explore your style more.
Elegant
As a Capricorn Venus you find it hard to find clothes that you like. Similar to Virgo and Taurus, you're picky and will only wear something that you absolutely love. Your closet should be filled with classic pieces that you can dress up when you please. You should fill your closet with items that never go out of style – elegant and classic.
Innovative
With a Venus in Aquarius, you want to be inventive and original. You prefer not to follow the trends unless you’re able to make them your own. You’re seen as a trendsetter, as you’re always looking to improve your fashion whilst still standing out. Your aesthetic is all about being unique and creative.
Creative
With a Venus in Pisces you have a dreamy outlook on style. You like to channel your inner fantasies, often taking inspiration from your favorite shows or movies. Dress everyday like you’re about to meet the love of your life, or your ex.

Could you imagine what the world would be like if we had no color? How do you think it would make you feel? Colors hold a lot of power and we don’t even realize it. Bright colors can make us feel happy, dark colors can make us feel cozy, and wearing your favorite colors make us feel confident! Color is important to our eyes and how we perceive the world around us, so much so, that the colors we choose to wear can not only impact our emotions, but the emotions of those around us. That’s right – you can use colors to impact and attract different types of people.
Color Psychology has been ingrained in our society for years. It's used in a lot of occasions, holidays and seasons. Ever wonder why we pull out all of our brighter colors for summer, and our darker colors for fall? Gravitating towards these colors is not just about fashion trends – as the seasons change, so do our moods along with the colors we want to wear. So why not use colors to your advantage? Here's a list of recommendations for colors you can wear to change your mood and attract the people you want to surround yourself with.
Attracts: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
“Nothing attracts attention like a red dress.” – Laura Bush
Have you heard the myth that wearing red lipstick attracts people to your lips? Well, it may be true! Red is a color that screams power, strength and determination. If you want to attract anyone at all, red is the color to wear! It symbolizes love and desire and in astrology is often associated with Aries. If you’re trying to attract an Aries or any of the other Fire Signs, red is the perfect color to wear.
Attracts: Virgo, Gemini
“Orange is the happiest color.” ― Frank Sinatra
The color orange is a combination of both red and yellow – two bright, bold and beautiful hues that invoke cheerfulness and love. Orange is a color that invites creativity, success and communication, so wear orange if you’re looking to attract someone with mercurial placements such as Virgo or Gemini.
Attracts: Taurus, Libra
“Pink isn’t just a color. It’s an attitude too.” ― Miley Cyrus
Similarly to red, pink is also associated with romance and love but in a softer form. While red is powerful and energetic, white is serene and pure. The mix of red and white creates a calming feeling of hope, intimacy and vulnerability. In a way, pink is an emotion. If you want to attract those inspired by the planet Venus, such as Taurus or Libra, this is the shade for you.
Attracts: Capricorn, Virgo
“The color brown, I realized, is anything but nondescript. It comes in as many hues as there are colors of earth, which is commonly presumed infinite.” ― Barbara Kingsolver
Unlike the previous colors, brown is seen as more serious and stable. It can be found a lot in nature, and we tend to become drawn to it during Autumn. Brown is associated with wisdom and respect. Lighter browns are considered, dependable whilst dark browns are considered predictable. Want to attract someone who leans more on the serious and logical side of life like a Capricorn or Virgo? Brown is the perfect color to wear to catch their eye.
Attracts: Virgo, Capricorn, Taurus, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio
“Green is a label for a certain attitude to life, a certain kind of respect that one might have for the very source of things that we take for granted.” ― Annie Lennox
When you see the color green, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Nature, health, serenity. The color green is a calming and nurturing color, attracting those who seek stability and mindfulness. If you’re trying to attract someone like an Earth Sign or even a Water Sign, consider putting on something green next time you’re planning your outfit.
Attracts: Leo
"Yellow is capable of charming God." – Vincent Van Gogh
Yellow is bright, vibrant and often associated with happiness, summer and joy! In fact, yellow is scientifically proven to heighten awareness and energy levels. So if you’re feeling a bit blue, why not put some yellow on to brighten your mood? If you want to attract someone who always embodies happiness and loyalty, such as a Leo, this is an ideal color to grab their attention.
Attracts: Everyone
“A certain blue enters your soul." – Henri Matisse
The color blue, like green, is a calming color. Think of things in nature like the sky or the ocean. Blue is provoking, reflective and spiritual. It also happens to be the most popular color in the world. Wearing blue is one of the most universally attractive hues on the color spectrum. No matter who you’re trying to attract, blue will always be a good choice!
Attracts: Pisces
“If you want to make a statement, wear purple.” – Baron Davis
When you mix red and blue together, you create the gorgeous shade of purple. Purple symbolizes creativity, independence and royalty. Purple also speaks to our curiosity as we associate it with imagination and fantasy. If you’re trying to get the attention of someone with an artistic flare, like a Pisces, purple is the perfect color to grab their attention as it manifests creativity within us.
Attracts: Gemini, Sagittarius
"I call white the most powerful non-color; it's clean, optimistic, powerful." – Jason Wu
Often associated with new beginnings, white is the color of wholeness, innocence and purity. New Moon’s are the perfect time to wear white, as it symbolizes a clean slate or the start of a new journey. White's freshness and brightness make it one of the most inviting and motivational colors. Wearing white will attract those who are optimistic or like to try many things all at once such as a Gemini or Sagittarius.
Attracts: Scorpio, Aquarius
"Black is always elegant. It is the most complete color in the whole world, made of all the colors in the palette." – Ricardo Tisci
The color black is the most complex of the ten. While it can be interpreted both negatively and positively, black has the power to command attention in whatever scenario it shows up. Black exerts elegance, confidence, power and sophistication. It also gives off a mysterious nature that draws people in. Wearing black can attract the curious type of individual, like a Scorpio or Aquarius.

Fashion has always played with the mystical but social media has propelled astrology into the stratosphere. Dominique McDonnell-Palomares investigates the rise of cosmic content.
In the scope of modern technology, the stars have aligned for the magnetic relationship between Gen Z and social media – one platform being TikTok which has become the host for the astrology phenomenon with daily tarot card readings and zodiac sign analysis.
There is also a wide spectrum of designers who embrace mysticism. Alessandro Michele celebrated the stars in the Gucci Resort 2023 show, ‘Cosmogonie', owing inspiration to philosophers Walter Benjamin and Hannah Arendt. Fashion has always intertwined its magic with idyllic cosmology from Schiaparelli’s AW38 collection (inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli’s astronomer uncle) and designers’ superstitious beliefs, such as Coco Chanel and Christian Dior. Chanel had superstitions about the number 5 after being informed by a fortune teller that it was her lucky number – hence she presented her collections on the fifth day of the fifth month. Dior recalled his first palm reading at 14 years old in his autobiography ‘Dior by Dior’ where he was told by Madame Delahaye “you will suffer poverty. But women are lucky for you, and through them, you will achieve success.”
But what has made astrology – mythology dating back to the 2nd millennium BC – so alluring to Gen Z and fashion today?
“People are in a deep search for meaning and connection because the world is so fractured and scary,” psychological astrologer Dr. Jennifer Freed tells me. In the turbulence of the Covid-19 pandemic, uncertain elections and social injustices, astrology provides people with reassurance in contextualizing these events. This is a pattern seen before: the first newspaper astrology column appeared on the Sunday Express in 1930 after the stock-market crash, the New Yorker reported. Now almost 30% of Americans believe in astrology according to a 2017 Pew Research Center poll. IBISWorld reported Americans spend $2.2 billion annually on ‘mystical services’ and “in the past year the membership of the Association for Young Astrologers has doubled” the New Yorker writes. In a secular society, astrology replaces religion, “giving people something to give their lives deeper meaning,” Alice Bell – former Vogue assistant to full-time astrologer and co-host of the ‘Astrology and You’ podcast – tells me.
Not only does astrology offer understanding to world events but it also connects people to their identity. This aspect of self-expression is emblematic of fashion. Just as wearing a certain colour or pattern signifies your personality, so does astrology. Astrology can also inform our fashion choices as Bell tells me, “our star sign reflects our personality. Our Venus placement indicates what items you find to be aesthetically pleasing and how you like to dress.” Other pockets of fashion also celebrate this sensation. “The horoscopes I do for British Vogue now are some of the top-performing content on their site. The demographic for astrology is mainly young women aged 20-35, the same audience these magazines and publications are targeting,” Bell says. Fashion also provides people with products that “showcase people’s sign with astrology-themed clothing and jewelry collections,” she continues.
This is what Rachel Borghard is doing with her 2019-founded brand Dooz. Borghard explains “fashion is all about self-expression and connecting with other people, self-love and identity. Astrology, to me, is also about those same principles.” The fashion design graduate from Pratt Institute collaborates with astrologers such as Alice Bell, Nia McDow and Courtney O’Reilly who validate and authenticate the brand to “have it grounded in something beyond the surface.” The collections, ranging from bags to tees to jewelry, have a colour for each zodiac and embellishments are kept minimal to encourage people to wear any star sign they want to. “You can echo the energy of your sign or you can wear a sign that represents a loved one or channel traits of another such as Leo for confidence. It’s really just about how you want to interpret it.” This concept enthralls astrology lovers – you are not just restricted to one zodiac, you can have fun with it which even appeals to “customers who don’t really care about astrology and they buy the pieces because they love the colour or design and that’s totally a point. It’s how you want to connect with the piece.” Astrology is for everyone and Dooz is at the core of representing it.
Dooz’s best-seller, the ‘Céleste Bag’ takes the shape of a half-moon and comes in 12 colours, each dedicated to a zodiac sign. Image courtesy of Dooz’s website.
First-year Central Saint Martins womenswear designer, Charlotte Rochester is also captivated by the celestial world. The beauty of mysticism is at the forefront of her image and her 2021 CSM White Show garment epitomises this divinity. Rochester, who tells me “I love creating my own idyllic world of magic and fantasy,” took the brief of lovers and transcended into a heavenly world of soulmates. From researching Roman mythology and the science of zodiacs, Rochester’s final garment was inspired by the ‘Twin Stars’ painting by Luis Falero. “It’s of two entangled lovers connected to stars. It captures the idea of destined love perfectly” she says. The dress – adorned with two bejewelled stars structured on each shoulder – inspired Rochester to illuminate celestial imagery in future designs as she says, “there are so many avenues to research when it comes to astrology”.

From Dior’s talismans such as “a pair of hearts, a sprig of lily of the valley, a gold star, a four-leaf clover, and a piece of wood” wrote Vogue, astrological fashion is proven to stay. After all, for creatives, astrology is the perfect potion to be interpreted and stretched across a universe of unique designs with its enigmatic sorcery. In a society slowly becoming detached, what we need is to rebuild these connections with each other, and that is exactly what astrology is doing. Particularly amongst Gen Z, asking for someone’s zodiac sign is like asking for their age, or where they are from. It’s a common ‘icebreaker’ and that is proven by Borghard and I as we discuss our similarities as Taureans. “This is what I love about astrology, you can always find some sort of connection with someone!” she exclaims.

June 21st: Sun enters Cancer
After a long, beautiful, and somewhat chaotic Gemini season we move into Cancer season. This energy is going to feel dreamlike and emotionally charged. Cancer season will bring deep and complex emotions to the surface. Be empathetic and allow yourself to be open to experiencing this energy of feeling. Cancers constantly remind us how beautiful emotions can be. Happy Birthday Cancers! And I hope everyone enjoys Cancer Season!
June 22nd: Venus enters Gemini
With Venus entering Gemini you may feel bored in your romantic relationship(s). If you're in a relationship, try incorporating an exciting date to change up your routine. And if you’re single, this is a great time to open the door to meeting someone new!
June 28th: Neptune Retrograde & New Moon in Cancer
Neptune is the planet of dreams and spirituality. Neptune Retrograde isn’t a transit you need to worry about - it spends half the year in retrograde and offers us an opportunity to reflect on our dreams. Neptune Retrograde is here to assist you with those dreams and turn them into reality.
The Sun and The Moon will both be in Cancer during this new moon – so you know it’s going to be a powerful one. The Moon is ruled by Cancer so this energy is going to feel really comforting and ‘home like’. The outcome of this new moon is going to be optimistic, light hearted and full of blessings. – This is a great time to manifest!
This New Moon is going to be exactly conjunct – so this is a great time to do things you naturally enjoy and show your truest most genuine self. The people around you are going to accept you with open arms.
All signs will feel this lovely energy but especially check your chart for any Cancer, Aries, Libra and Capricorn placements. Look at what houses they are in and what that represents to see what will come to light for you specifically!
July 5th: Mars enters Taurus & Mercury Enters Cancer
Mars in Taurus will provide strength and stability to your communication. This can be a patient position, but your patience wont last long if you come into conflict. Stay grounded with this energy of action and desire.
When Mercury enters the sign Cancer, you’re going to be drawn to being alone with your thoughts. Use this energy to really rely on your intuition and feeling. You may find it harder to express yourself throughout the next few weeks as this energy will draw you into yourself. Use your heart and your emotions to guide you into success.
July 13th: Full Moon in Capricorn
On July 13th we have a Full Moon in Capricorn. Take out your crystals, candles and moon water because this one is a strong one. This Full Moon is going to be great to manifest and re-evaluate our current work life and future goals. This energy will help us make mature and logical decisions connected to work life balance and what we are achieving.
This Full Moon squares Chiron, so you may feel overwhelmed by any career demands that effect your relationships with your family & friends. This energy shows strong issues with power dynamics, government, rules and regulations. For some of you struggling in a job or career, this energy is going to show you whether its time to make a change.
Once again check where you have cardinal placements (Cancer, Aries, Libra and Capricorn) Look at what houses they are in and what that represents to see what will come to light for you specifically!
July 17th: Venus enters Cancer
After having Venus in Gemini, it’s going to fall into Cancer on July 17th. This energy is very nurturing and emotional. We may find ourselves feeling more sensitive during this time which can cause a rollercoaster of emotional ups & downs within romantic relationships. Deep and emotional conversations are encouraged as this is a great time to get to know your partner on a deeper level. If you’re single this can bring a feeling of loneliness, and I encourage you to find ways to deeply cherish yourself and your own emotional needs.
July 19th: Mercury enters Leo & Chiron Retrograde
After having Mercury in empathetic Cancer. Mercury enters the sign of Leo, expect to feel prideful about your opinions and perspectives. Use this energy and boost of confidence to be more social. Hang out with friends or attend an event you’ve been wanting to go to.
Chiron is the placement that surrounds our pain and how we can overcome them through healing. Not many people talk about this placement, however its very important in understaffing your life journey. This retrograde is meant to show us whether we have addressed our wounds or simply temporarily covered them. Chiron supplies the support we need to be able to allow ourselves the time and energy to do the proper shadow work (shadow work: inner healing of the unconscious by tapping into your intuition and understanding of ones self). So that we are able to truly heal from our wounds and allow for growth.
Chiron can seem like a scary placement because it surrounds topics of trauma, but think of her like a teacher. She is there to guide us towards the work that needs to be done.
July 22nd: Sun enters Leo
The end of Cancer season, time to welcome Leo season x

Below we have curated the perfect mood board for you based on your placements. Want to feel at home – check your sun sign. Hone in on your emotions – check your moon! These mood boards were made to help you connect with your chart.
You are known for your bold energy because you aren’t afraid to tell it how it is, which is why red is your color. It’s bright and powerful just like you.
Ruled by Venus and grounded with the element of Earth, you are a natural beauty without even trying. Green embodies your soft and effortless glow.
As the most misunderstood sign, you never let it stop you from shinning as bright as you should. True gold never tarnishes, and neither do you.
Nothing is more deeply beautiful than a Cancer. With the ability to empathize, understand and feel, dark blue is your color.
Ruled by the sun, you are the literal center of the solar system. Orange reflects your fiery personality so perfectly.
You’re so perfect that we couldn’t choose between white or burgundy – so you get both! On your chill days you give off crisp white energy, but when you want to strut your confidence you aren’t afraid of dabbling into something a bit darker like burgundy.
Ruled by Venus, your ultra-feminine energy is compatible with a color like blushing pink. Your aura is flirtatious, friendly and fun.

Gemini Season Forecast For Each Placement
May 30th: New Moon in Gemini
Our first New Moon since the Eclipse is a powerful and positive one. Over the next few days open yourself to learning and expanding your hobbies, dreams and goals. Focus on your personal intentions and reflect on the past few weeks of Eclipse Season.
Everyone will be affected by this energy, but specifically mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius & Pisces)
Everyone should use this time to journal your thoughts and ideas. Meditate, manifest and reflect. Eclipse Season is only the beginning process of the change that is to come over these coming months. Keeping a record will help to document your life process.
June 3rd: Mercury Direct
Mercury direct is basically the end of Mercury retrograde, now there is a post-shadow which means some of that energy will linger for a short bit however the worst of it is over. This is the time to reflect on any events that occurred these past few weeks, especially surrounding communication.
June 4th-October 23rd: Saturn Retrograde
What is it? Retrograde is basically when a planet appears to be moving backwards. Each planet goes into retrograde around a period of time each year, with Saturn it spends about 5 months of the year in retrograde.
Capricorn is the sign ruled by Saturn, and Saturns energy surrounds responsibility, boundaries and commitments. Which will be a huge theme of your Saturn retrograde.
What should you expect? Once again I’m here to remind you that there is no need to panic. Retrogrades are a time to rework, reflect and re-evaluate. During this Saturn Retrograde you will be force to face anything you’ve been putting off, as much as we love to procrastinate Saturn is bringing that goal, person or event forward. We are also going to re-evaluate and re-think our boundaries.
Some questions you may be faced with:
Is it time I open up more?
Is it time I create stricter boundaries?
Who really deserves access to me?
Saturn will go Retrograde in the sign Aquarius therefore although this energy will influence all of the signs, the fixed placements will feel it more. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius
Check your chart to see if you have any of these placements in 18 to 25th degrees.
June 13th: Mercury enters Gemini
Mercury will re-enter its home sign Gemini, after being in Taurus and through Mercury Retrograde. The energy surrounding communication will feel more balanced.
June 14th: Full Moon in Sagittarius
Our first full moon of the eclipse will be in Sagittarius. Full Moons are all about releasing energy that no longer serves you. You will feel a lot of clarity and release surrounding people and events that occurred during Eclipse Season.
June 20th: The Last Day of Gemini Season!
Time to prepare for Cancer Season 🤍

Mercury Retrograde is once again here and it's about to put you through some of its highs and lows. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know for this Mercury Retrograde. Mercury Retrograde starts today May 10th until June 3rd in Gemini and will be in its post-shadow until June 18th. It’s important not to look at Mercury Retrograde as a transit that’s out to get you, Mercury is the planet of communication, so the best thing to do is to better your communication skills. This season is all about learning & growing so that in the end you come out stronger than before!
Advice for Mercury Retrograde
Relax, reflect, close old chapters & prepare to start a new.
Relax Reflect & Meditate: When you’re thinking about what to say, or making a decision try to avoid making it immediately. Allow yourself time to think. Reflect & meditate on the thoughts, don’t feel like you need to rush.
Communicate, communicate, communicate: With this transit often miscommunication occurs. The best way to avoid this is to make sure your thoughts and words are clear when communicating with others.
Don’t open old chapters that have closed: Mercury retrograde means…ex’s! Past friendships, lovers and situations may come into your life during this transit. If the chapter was closed and locked, don’t open it!!! If there are unresolved thoughts or events, engage with caution. Don’t jump into the deep end, and trust your instinct.

What is Eclipse Season?
An eclipse is when the Sun, Moon and Earth align. It creates chaotic, dreamy and one of the kind energy. We’ve just had our first solar eclipse on April 30th in Taurus and the second one is set for May 15th at 12:15 am (EST). If you have Taurus or Scorpio placements you will really be sensitive to this energy, however it effects every sign.
On April 30th you may have encountered an event surrounding a foundation in your life, drama or a downfall. This event is important because it will effect at-least the next 6 months of your life. I recommend writing about this day so that you can revisit it in the future, it may hold answers that unreal themselves within the next few months.
April 30th – May 15th (the two weeks between the eclipse). These two weeks are going to feel dream like. They have neutral energy compared to the two eclipses. You may experience vivid dreams, insomnia or trouble sleeping. Think of this time as a calm before the storm.
May 15th 12:15 am EST - Total Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio – Sun in Taurus. Think of a Lunar Eclipse like a strong Full Moon. The theme is surrounding letting go, but to a larger scale. The truth will become known and we are letting go of the negativity surrounding us that no longer serve us. This will be something difficult to end and it may not occur immediately but it's going to feel good releasing this chapter.
Follow these tips and tricks for a smooth Eclipse Season:
1. Don’t manifest around an eclipse.
Eclipse energy is unpredictably up and down, it’s best not to manifest during this time.
2. Don’t be hard on yourself.
We all get down on ourselves from time to time, whether we can control it or not. With the strong energy you may find yourself judging yourself more and harder than usual. Now that you’re aware, try to be easier on yourself. You are in the place you are suppose to be, the universe always has your back. Don’t worry
3. Release negativity or anything that no longer serves you.
Anything or anyone that is no longer bringing you peace and happiness should go. The lunar eclipse will make these things obvious, listen to it. It will help your growth.
4. Rest, Relax & Self Care.
This energy is exhausting. Indulge in self-love – buy something you’ve had your eye on, get yourself a nice meal and relax. This will help you get through eclipse season and come out stronger!

This week, we continue exploring the theme of the 1st House with #DOOZMUSE Brooklynn Gallagher. A total Libra babe, Brooklynn dishes on everything from her cool-girl style (we swoon over her sultry aesthetic) to keeping a positive attitude. Oh, and we can't get over how she styles her What's Your Sign?™ pieces – take notes!
Hey Brooklynn! Where do you live/where are you from?
I am originally from Vancouver, Canada but have been living in New York for the last six years. Recently I changed things up again and am living in LA with the goal of a bi-coastal life between LA and NYC.
What do you do for work?
I am a part-time content creator and full time Director of Partnerships at Bulletin, a retail-tech team that connects buyers with brands.
What are your Big 3 (sun, moon, rising)?
Libra Sun, Libra Moon, and Virgo Rising
Does your zodiac sign come into play when getting dressed?
Definitely! As a true Libra, we are very indecisive so picking an outfit for the day can be quite messy and chaotic. But ultimately, once I pick the outfit I am confident in it.
How do you describe your personal style?
Modern with a classic foundation :)
A fashion rule you never break? Or do you break all the rules?!
I typically love to break the rules but the one I always stick to is lighter layers first and darker layers on top. Essentially, never putting a white jacket over a black tee, but always a black jacket over a white tee.
If you could give a "How To" lesson, what would it be?
How to do a slicked back bun! It’s my go-to look and some would say my signature look ;)
How do you style your DOOZ pieces?
I am grateful to have two DOOZ items. I style my “whats your sign” socks with my favorite Prada Loafers.
The first house is about how you articulate who you are-
How do you express who you are?
I feel like I do this in a ton of different ways but most directly in my style and my everyday clothes. Fashion has always been such an important part of who I am and has always been such a positive channel for me to express myself. But who I am is forever changing and ultimately the way I express myself is as well.
What is your general aesthetic- when it comes to your living space, your personal image?
I love a vintage edge with a modern twist and this comes into play in both my personal style and my personal taste when it comes to home decor etc.
How do you keep a positive attitude?
I don't think there is one right answer for this but for me it’s always been about taking everything day by day and not holding onto the little things. I have so much to be grateful for and the reminder of that helps me focus on what’s happening right now and what matters most. It’s corny to say but life is short and it's always been easier for me to stay positive than to hold onto negativity, something I credit to my Libra nature.
When did you learn to trust your instincts?
After many many times of not trusting my instincts. It takes error to learn what’s right and I’ve been in many situations where I didn’t trust my instincts and the outcome was not ideal but I think that also comes with age.
Who is someone you admire for their sense of self?
Such a hard question! I am a huge Lady Gaga fan so maybe I’d say Lady Gaga. She is always consistent and even when she is ridiculous she is always authentic.

Astrology is all about the number 12. There are 12 zodiac signs, 12 months in a calendar year and 12 houses, and each astrological sign is paired with a house. In this series we’re going to go over all of the Houses in order to help you better understand your birth chart, starting with House 1.
House 1 is one of the most significant Houses (although they are all equally as important) but this is the start of your birth-chart. You will know what sign you have in your first house simply by knowing your rising/ascendant sign.
Basic Summary of the First House
Ruled by Aries
Planet: Mars
Important Themes: Appearance, The Self
ARIES IN THE FIRST HOUSE
Having Aries in the first house is a pretty powerful placement. It's important that you know your own limits and try your best not to over exhaust yourself. You're not afraid to tackle new things and you come off as confident to the world.
TAURUS IN THE FIRST HOUSE
Having Taurus in your first house means that how you present yourself to the world is very important to you, you likely have a good sense of style as your first house is represented by the planet Venus. You come off as put together (even when you’re absolutely dying on the inside).
GEMINI IN THE FIRST HOUSE
Having Gemini in your first house means you come off as a chameleon to the world. It’s hard for someone who doesn’t know you to guess your rising sign. You have a lot of different interests, and it's hard for you to stick to one thing for a long period of time. You get bored easily and it doesn’t take long before you’re onto the next thing.
CANCER IN THE FIRST HOUSE
Having Cancer in your first house means that it takes you a while to warm up to new people. You may come off introverted and prefer to keep to yourself in new environments and situations. Your favorite things to wear is most likely something that keeps you comfortable, like DOOZ's What's Your Sign? Sweaset.
LEO IN THE FIRST HOUSE
Having Leo in your first house means you shine as bright as the sun when you walk into a room. You’re not afraid to have eyes on you (even if you try to say otherwise), you enjoy a bit of attention. You most likely enjoy putting effort into your appearance and if you’re more on the introverted side you’re good at hiding it.
Having Virgo in your first house means that you are always put together, even when you feel like you’re falling apart (don’t worry, no one can tell). You feel your best when things around you are organized, and you’re really good at helping others.
LIBRA IN THE FIRST HOUSE
If you have Libra in your first house, you come off as relaxed and have a chill approach to life. You approach things with a level head even if you feel overwhelmed. You have the ability to make everyone feel like everything is under control (even when it's not). ***
SCORPIO IN THE FIRST HOUSE
If you have a Scorpio in your first house you may come off intimidating, and have strong eyes. People have a hard time reading you when they first meet you, and they may be confused about how you feel about them. It takes you a moment to open up to others, and you’re drawn to darker colors like the Scorpio Knit Tee.
SAGITTARIUS IN THE FIRST HOUSE
If you have Sagittarius in your first house traveling and freedom are two very important things to you. People are attracted to your free willed nature and overall fun personality. You’re open minded and willing to try anything at least once, this can often be seen in your sense of style.
CAPRICORN IN THE FIRST HOUSE
If you have Capricorn in your first house you’re a practical person. You pride yourself on your achievements and feel the most put together when you have goals in place. You can be hard to read and when you get lost in your thoughts you can be found looking into the distance.
AQUARIUS IN THE FIRST HOUSE
If you have Aquarius in your first house you may have alien-like features, something that really captivates people. You may come off disinterested in conversations involving small talk, and your style can be described as “out of this world.”
PISCES IN THE FIRST HOUSE
If you have Pisces in your first house you’re an overall easygoing person. You’re intuitive and it doesn’t take you long to read a room. You’re dreamy, and would rather live inside a dream than reality and you likely have big dreamy “fish-like” eyes.
Ahh, your Saturn Return. It’s so astrologically major, it deserves its own post.
Whether you’ve never heard of one before, yours has just begun, or you have some curiosity about what this upcoming cycle might look like for you, you’ve come to the right place.
What is a Saturn Return?
All planets follow their own unique path of orbit—some slower, and some longer. For example, the Sun takes 365 days to return to the same position it was in when you were born. We call this your Solar Return, which is the marker we use to celebrate your birthday. But good ol’ Saturn is a muuuuch slower planet, taking roughly 27-30 years to return to that same natal position, heralding your Saturn Return.
While you may have only heard about Saturn Returns in the context of your late 20s, a time when you’re forced to enter and contend with real adulthood, you actually experience a few Saturn Returns throughout your lifetime: your late 20s, late 50s, and late 80s. (All monumental life phases, tbh.)
Now — While there is no need for fearmongering when it comes to dear Saturn, it’s not exactly a planet that’s keen to let you keep chilling out. Like a tough-but-loving Life Coach, Saturn is prepared to check in on (and critique) your plans. If you’re living your life by anyone else’s standards right now rather than following what your heart and soul really desire, expect huge, life-altering shifts—in your romantic life, living situation, career path, and so forth. If there’s an issue you’ve avoided or haven’t worked through (like poor financial hygiene, let’s say) expect that issue to bubble up in a big way to force you to finally address it.
Your Saturn Return is a time to re-evaluate your life and take responsibility for your participation in its outcome. Check in on your behavior. Your daily thoughts. Your routines and patterns. Take a long, hard look at your job. Relationships. Friendships. Review things deeply. Are you really happy with the direction you’re headed, or have you been on autopilot? What in your life is a distraction, and what are you actually supposed to be doing? Are you really in alignment, or are you living by [society’s/your father’s/fear-based] standards?
The most important advice I can share is this: You must be an active participant in your Saturn Return. Just because Saturn is helping to highlight what in your life needs change, doesn’t mean that a magical moonbeam will come down and change it for you. It’s time to step up and realize only you are responsible for the outcome of your existence.
Sorry to be the one to break this news, but there’s no more time for lazing around and avoiding. No more pretending to be something or someone that you’re not. The harder you fight these changes, the more you will struggle. The harder you listen—to what Saturn is trying to spotlight and teach you—the more you will succeed and go with ease.
Don’t freak out. You’re entering the next stage of your life.
What does Saturn represent?
Discipline. Strictness. Regimen. These structured qualities are important to the planet of Saturn, because they are what’s proven to lead to growth. Just like building a habit requites dedication, so Saturn tells us that discipline creates the future we want. During your Saturn Return, expect to be tested — but don’t think of this as a punishment. Trust and believe that Saturn is actually here to prepare you for a better, brighter, and more beautiful future (with a healthy dose of tough love in the interim).
Think of it this way: I imagine none of us loved sitting around in school for 8+ hours as kids, every Monday-Friday, week after week. We didn’t love the exams, and the never-ending homework, and the long essays. But guess what? Discipline in school prepared you to enter the world as a functioning young adult. It might’ve felt like a drag to learn about the former Presidents or practice Spanish language conjugations, but dare I say you’re grateful for it now? Saturn’s message is that discipline pays off tenfold later. How else do you think Olympians become as strong as they are? Famous musicians become so talented at piano or guitar? Celebrated authors create canonical works? Discipline, baby. Saturn wants you to take responsibility for your life choices and to recognize that getting to the place you want to be in, becoming the person you want to be, requires personal discipline. Let that message be a guiding light.
Saturn also rules the spine, so it is a planet that’s quite literally focused on alignment. If we think about our life choices as the structure or foundation of our existence, then Saturn wants to ensure that our ‘spines’ are healthy, straight, and in-tact. If you’re trying to bend your spine to meet the expectations or desires of others, well… we all know a broken spine spells absolute ruin for your health. If you’re working a job that doesn’t align with your true passions, Saturn will make sure you know it. If you’ve hesitated to make that scary move to a city you’ve been fantasizing about, Saturn will help push you onto that plane. If you’ve been in a relationship that’s ‘fine,’ or even bad, because you’d rather be partnered than alone, Saturn will cosmically smack some sense into you to dump that dead weight.
Your Saturn Return is here to blow the door wide open on why you’re really in your current job field (…or relationship, or town, or friendship). Then, you get to decide if that’s the path you want to continue forward on, or if it’s time to course-correct. Remember: Saturn won’t let you play the victim. Only you are responsible for the outcome of your life, and you’re being offered an incredible opportunity to take a long, hard look at things and edit where necessary.
This really is a period of breakthrough. Trust that you are now in the process of becoming who you truly and uniquely are, and not the person you were taught you were supposed to be.
Practical question: How do I find out when my Saturn Return is starting?
The lovely Astro Twins developed a handy Saturn Return calculator to let you know when yours starts and what sign your Saturn is in. Saturn Returns as a whole require some pretty standard advice, but they are also uniquely influenced by the sign they inhabit.
In fact, if you born between February 6th, 1991 - May 21st, 1993, or June 30th, 1993 - January 28th, 1994 — congrats! Your Saturn Return has just arrived, and it’s in Aquarius. For the sake of brevity, if you fall into those date ranges, check out this video from Madi Murphy (of The Cosmic Rx) for specific advice for those currently wading through their Saturn Returns in Aquarius.
Saturn Return Self-Inquiry Prompts:
You can use the following prompts as guidance for your own journaling practice, you can answer them with your best friend over wine, or you can bring them to your therapy sessions to walk through with a professional. Just make sure you’re doing some sort of self-inquiry during this monumental life shift:
Remember, there may be bumpy patches and low moments during your Saturn Return, but it’s all for the greater good! Saturn is ultimately benevolent and you will come out even better on the other side of this. Pinky promise.

]]>What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
Leo Sun. Aries Moon. Sag Rising. Triple fire bb.
Where do you live/where are you from?
I live in Los Angeles California but I am a Texas girl at heart. Hook Em!
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I produce and host content at the Ellen Show. My sign 100 percent plays into my day job. I work with in a very creative space with a lot of passionate people. Surprisingly a lot of other Leos at my job.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
I am honestly so passionate about everything. Whether it's my friends, my job or a super yummy slice of cheese pizza, i care a lot about everything!!
What’s your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday)
My favorite holiday is obviously my birthday. Not because I love the attention, but because I love spending quality time with my favorite people… and some years that means just spending quality time with myself. My second favorite holiday is New Years Eve. Both give me the perfect excuse to wear a flashy dress and look forward to a fresh start.
We all miss parties, gatherings, and events of all sorts. If you could plan your ultimate shindig what would it look like? Who would be there? What would go down?
Honestly, my favorite gatherings involve GREAT food and quality people. My favorite thing to do is to just laugh until my stomach and cheeks hurt.
What foods remind you of home?
Traditional Tex Mex queso. So hard to find a good spot for that in LA.
Early bird or night owl?
Night owl for sure. I feel like that is when I am the most creative and silly.
Someone hands you the AUX at a party, what do you play?
Probably something that will make everyone cry. The car will pretend to hate it but they will secretly love it!
What’s your one beauty secret?

How would you style your DOOZ pieces for a night out?
I am a 90's girl until the end. Absolutely love rocking a bandana moment as a top.

Red, obviously! It makes me feel empowered, confident and powerful.
How do you unwind/decompress at the end of the day?
Recently I am into puzzling. I am terrible at puzzling and I still haven't finished one but for some reason working on a puzzle makes me feel like i have my shit together.
Leo: If someone gives you $100 and tells you to Treat Yo Self, what do you do?
Probably would Postmates Sugar Fish and buy a new candle. Especially during quarantine, to treat myself I have loved showering, doing a face mask and renting a new movie all while having the perfect meal. Nothing is better than sitting down to watch a movie and having food in front of you in silence!

Gemini muse Emily Loveras is an NYC-based college student and content creator. She prides herself on being adventurous, social, and ambitious, how very Gemini.. The Scope caught up with Emily to discuss her beauty rituals, fashion, and staying positive through daily gratitude journaling and meditation.
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
My sun is Gemini, my moon is Aquarius, and my rising is Virgo.
3 adjectives to describe you?
I would say adventurous, social, and ambitious!
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I’m a fashion & beauty content creator on Instagram! This plays a great role in my career since I'm a junior at LIM college studying fashion merchandising. In the future, I want to continue using Instagram as my platform and have an impact on the future of fashion. I want to start in social media and work my way up to having my own business!
Do you gravitate towards certain signs as friends/collaborators/partners?
I realized that many of my friends are usually the same signs as Geminis, Virgos, and Leos. I believe these are the type of people I connect with more and tend to be on the same level as I am. However, my boyfriend is a Scorpio and according to our signs we’re supposed to clash a lot but we’re super great at communicating with each other and match the same energy all the time!
What’s a typical morning look like for you? How does astrology play into that?
I always start my day off with writing down my gratitudes and it really helps with starting off on a positive note, after I usually get ready with my morning like doing my skincare routine, eating breakfast, and doing my makeup. I try to have a calm morning routine because I believe my morning is what sets my mood for the day.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
Astrology impacts my daily life in which I feel it gives me a little guide of what I can expect in my day. A lot of times it is extremely true and helps me settle with how I’m feeling and what to do to solve it.
What does the work day look like for you? Does your zodiac sign help you out?
So because I'm mainly in school, I love using my daily planner to plan my day out and I’m super organized and love to-do lists! It's my favorite way to organize my day and it doesn't push me to make something done by a certain time but instead just completing it when it fits best into your day. My day usually looks like me attending class, complete a few assignments before I head back to my dorm, enjoying some outside air and exploring NYC or trying new foods, shooting some content throughout the day, and after heading back to complete any assignments I have left or anything else I had on my to-do list.
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Emily a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:
When do you feel most secure?
I feel most secure when I’m confident in what I'm doing. I love knowing everything that is going to happen or just having things planned out. So feeling secure is super important to me.
What makes you unique?
What makes me unique would be my personality and the way I express my cultural background through everything I do in life.
What is guaranteed to bring you happiness?
Being with my boyfriend, shopping, and eating food.
To wrap up the Actually Curious portion of this interview, a featured Gemini question: Who's a person you've gotten to have a conversation with that totally blew your mind?
A person who I’ve gotten to have a conversation with that blew my mind would be my professor from my Introduction to the beauty industry class. He previously worked for Chanel and hearing from his experiences opened my mind to a new career path and also helped me to new opportunities in the beauty industry.
What books are on your nightstand right now?
I'm currently only reading You are a Badass at making money by Jen Sincero and just finished the Knockoff by Jo Piazza and Lucy Sykes!
Someone hands you the AUX at a party. What do you play?
How do you unwind/decompress at the end of the day?
I love meditating at night right before I go to sleep. It relaxes me to have a good night's sleep and lowers all of my thoughts. I realized that when I started to consistently meditate before going to sleep that I wake up in a better mood and not as worried or stressed with all of my thoughts.
Are you watching/have you recently watched anything you’d recommend?
I just started watching Lucifer and I’m really enjoying it so far! It's so funny and interesting but I would recommend 10/10 would be Money Heist, it's a super intense show that will have you on your seat the whole time and has a lot of action in it!
What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
My favorite thing to do on the weekends is trying new restaurants, shopping, and having photoshoots in Soho. Living in NYC there are always things to do here and I love to always be exploring!
Any given day is incomplete without…?
Music! I’m always listening to music and it has such a big effect on my day since I usually listen to music that matches the mood I'm in. Music can relax me and also give me more confidence while I'm getting ready.
How would you style the DOOZ Sweater-T?
With a pair of light wash oversized jeans and a pair of white sneakers. I love to accessorize so I would add gold jewelry to complete the look and maybe a headband!
What are your favorite DOOZ pieces? Which color(s) do you gravitate towards, even if they’re not signs in your chart.
My favorite DOOZ pieces are the Pisces Céleste Bag, Libra Sweater-T, and the Gemini bandana. I’ve been obsessing over more colorful pieces and the Pisces bag stood out to me. I also love pink, so the Libra Sweater-T is perfect to add to any outfit for a pop of color.
]]>What are your big 3 — Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
Libra Sun, Virgo Moon, Capricorn Rising
Where do you live/where are you from?
I’m originally from Salisbury, MD but I’ve been in Los Angeles for almost 20 years now.
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I’m an interior designer and a home decor influencer. Libras funny enough are always suggested as interior designers. We love finding the beauty in all things and creating aesthetically pleasing environments!
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
I do read my horoscope but not daily. I am into astrology and definitely think that my sign fits my personality to a tee.
What’s your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday).
Christmas. I love the excitement and the feeling of love in the air and spending it with family.
We all miss parties, gatherings, and events of all sorts. If you could plan your ultimate shindig what would it look like? Who would be there? What would go down?
At this point in my life, I’m so happy to just spend time with the people that I’m the closest with. There are a lot of people I haven’t seen in awhile that I definitely miss a ton. I would have an outdoor party with amazing music and food and there would be lots of dancing and laughter!
What’s the most memorable gift you’ve given recently?
I found a vintage rock t-shirt for one of my best friends who had been looking for one for ages. I was so excited to give it to her! She had just given me an incredible gift for my birthday. She had a “Let’s Go Thrifting” necklace personalized for me and it was so thoughtful and sweet!
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Grace a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:
What were the holidays like for you growing up?
My Mom made every holiday so special. She really went all out for us with cooking and presents and special traditions.
What foods remind you of home?
Southern Foods. My Mom is from Kentucky so she makes biscuits and gravy and chicken and dumplings and amazing ham and bean soup. Also Blue Crabs because I’m from Maryland and there’s nothing like Eastern Shore Maryland Blue Crab!
I wish I could share _____ with human kind.
I wish I could share meditation with human kind. I think if everyone on the planet meditated daily, it would be a much more peaceful and happy place!
Imagine yourself in the future. What will your greatest life accomplishment be?
I think my son is my greatest accomplishment. He’s only 6 but he’s already such an amazing human. As far as career, I hope to continue what I’m doing and to grow exponentially each year. I love what I do; it’s very fulfilling being creative for work!
To wrap up the Actually Curious portion of this interview, a featured sign question: Libra – Who was your childhood crush, and where are they now?
Harrison Ford. 🤣 I totally fell in love with Indiana Jones. 🤷♀️
If you could give someone one DOOZ piece, who would it be and what would you give them? Would you pick their sign?
I would give my friend Sarah a Celeste Virgo bag. She’s very into astrology and I think she would love to have her sign!
Festive string lights or scented candles?
Scented candles
Early bird or night owl?
I’m both!
Someone hands you the AUX at a party, what do you play?
It would depend on the party and the vibe but I’m a big fan of 90s hip hop, Motown, indie music, 80s, 90s alt rock- I have very eclectic taste!
What’s your one beauty secret?
Good product! I’m a big fan of Drunk Elephant and use their products day and night. Drinking lots of water is also very important!
How would you style your DOOZ piece(s) for a night out?
The Sweater-T is so perfect for vintage high waisted Levi’s. You can dress it up or down with the right shoes, jacket and accessories.
If you were to select one color from the DOOZ celestial rainbow, what would your power color be and why?
I think my power color is actually green. It’s all around us in nature and I have so many plants in my home. It’s an invigorating and calming color!
How do you unwind/decompress at the end of the day?
I definitely have a hard time relaxing, I’m a bit of a workaholic. Usually I’ll watch a show or movie at the end of the day. I’m also a big fan of true crime podcasts. My Favorite Murder is my favorite. It doesn’t sound relaxing 😆 but for some reason it is.
Any given day is incomplete without…?
Coffee, coffee and more coffee.
What are your favorite DOOZ pieces and why?
The Sweater-Ts have a great fit, I love that the belts are reversible and the shape of the buckle, and the Céleste bag has such a cool shape!

By Lauren Rubin –
2020 is behind us. Take a deep sigh of relief with me. No, it doesn’t mean the pandemic is over. No, it doesn’t mean that the suffering has ended, or that life has suddenly shifted back to ‘normal.’ What it does mean is that a new year of fresh astrology is upon us – and this year, it’s looking a lot more auspicious.
Some of you may or may not know that last month was a pretty major astrological moment in time. Many were lucky to physically witness the Great Conjunction, when Jupiter and Saturn met in the sky. We experienced the winter solstice together. We basked in the final full moon of 2020 in deliciously cozy Cancer. And according to many accounts, we’ve officially entered the great Age of Aquarius.
To prepare yourself for the year ahead and to inject hope into your January, let’s dive into what a few of these macro astrological moments mean for you, discuss how to work in tandem with these new energies, and follow it all with a special ritual to seal in the juicy goodness and say goodbye to what’s no longer serving you.
We are entering a new chapter of humanity in 2021. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for what’s to come.
What is the Great Conjunction?
Every 20 years or so, Jupiter and Saturn meet in the same degree of the zodiac—visually “overlapping” in the sky—which makes them look like one giant, extra-shiny star. Some of you may have even been lucky enough to visibly spot this celestial moment! But this conjunction isn’t just here to bring beauty; it means business.
We can think of Saturn as the taskmaster planet—it’s focused on structure, caution, realism, and whipping your life into shape. Jupiter, on the other hand, is a planet that tends to bring a lot of positivity. It’s expansive, it’s wise, and it’s revelatory. When they meet up, these energies mix and create something really interesting, causing us to bring both pragmatism and dreaminess to our future goals. When these two planets meet in the sky, they help to illuminate precisely what you need to let go of and what you need to call in to make this lofty, dreamy growth *actually happen.*
Another major note? For the last 200+ years, these Great Conjunctions have occurred in material, grounded Earth signs. On December 21, 2020 they finally met in Aquarius—an Air sign—and will continue to visit one other in Air signs over the next two-ish centuries. As astrology goddess Diana Rose Harper shares, the last time Jupiter and Saturn connected in an Air sign was actually during the European Renaissance, a historically significant period of rebirth that took us out of the Middle Ages and into modernity. I personally find it fascinating to think about how that translates to what the next 200 years might look like. Robots and humans co-existing? Micro-chips implanted in our brains? The rise of designer genes? Who knows! This Great Conjunction in Aquarius clearly heralds some revolutionary change.
One of my favorite ways that the Astro Twins describe Air signs is as the ‘winds of change.’ Just like a strong gust of wind physically forces you out of a stationary place, Aquarius is also pushing you to move forward, to progress, to embrace change—whether you like it or not. So the important question becomes, will you get on board with this new cycle, or will you torture yourself by resisting? This conjunction is asking you to embrace Aquarian qualities like authenticity, community, and progressiveness. To work with that energy, use the following journal prompts as a jumping off point:
* How can you shape your goals for the next year (and beyond) around Aquarian values?
* What do you want to contribute to the world?
* Deep down, what really matters to you?
* What layers can you shed to get in touch with a more unapologetically authentic version of yourself?
Tell me more about the Age of Aquarius.
Popularized by a song in the musical Hair, the Age of Aquarius needs some explaining. A new “age” in astrology typically dawns every ~2,100 years. (The queen of all astrology queens, Susan Miller, goes into more depth about the murkiness of that timing here). While there’s been some debate the last few years as to when the great Age of Aquarius ‘officially’ began, most astrologers can agree that the cosmic significance of the Great Conjunction in Aquarius is a predictable marker that we’re definitely wading through those ‘new age’ waters by now.
Aquarius is a visionary, focused on the greater good. It’s a sign associated with technology and ready as ever to challenge authority and fight the status quo. That description should give you some sense of the revolutionary direction that we’re headed in these next 2,000+ years. Whether it’s a spike in the use of cryptocurrency, a complete dismantling of structures that perpetuate systemic racism and social wrongs, virtual reality becoming eerily realistic, or a greater emphasis on embracing individuality and unique, non-binary identities, we’ve already seen the seeds of this begin to sprout. Personally, I find it ridiculously exciting to think about how these history-making seeds will continue to flourish and multiply in our lifetime and beyond.
But most importantly—how does this apply to your own life? Well, you must weave this new celestial direction into your goal-setting and future plans, or you’re sure to meet some serious discomfort. 2020 was a great example of the dawning of this new kind of energy; we saw many jobs become largely remote, we witnessed in-person doctor’s visits turn into telehealth appointments, and so forth. I’ve heard older generations complain about these changes and long for things to return to ‘normal,’ but I must state this clearly: The old normal doesn’t exist anymore. Resistance creates discomfort. Embrace this new direction to get into flow.
One of Aquarius’ most important qualities—and one that will define this age—is that of social responsibility. Societally, we’ll be moving away from a “me me me” attitude and instead asking, how can we work to make the world a better place for everyone? How can we stand in solidarity, rather than harp on our tiny differences? My favorite thing that astrologer Diana Rose Harper said as she gave her astrology forecast for 2021 is that we’re being called to focus on our future vision for the collective now. It doesn’t matter if you won’t be alive to see it come to fruition in your lifetime, or if it doesn’t personally benefit you; it is your (our) responsibility to lay the foundation for a brighter future for our entire community and for the communities of tomorrow.
On that note, it’s imperative that you ask yourself how you can join hands with your community to focus on cooperative humanitarian goals.
Get clear on your values and the change you want to see.
Research or brainstorm ways you can get involved and take action in 2021.
Working with this energy will only serve to amplify your own flow, peace, and abundance. This is your homework as we enter a new era.
A simple ritual to start the New Year:
I’ve designed this ritual to be performed whenever it works best for you. There is no pressure to perform it in early January. Whenever you feel ready to reflect on 2020 and work with the energies of 2021, engage with any part of the following that calls to you:
Happy new year, #DOOZMUSE! May 2021 bring positive change, progress, and deeper alignment.

Claire Kang is a free-spirited Virgo and designer with major earth sign energy in her chart. Claire caught up with The Scope to chat about her thoughtful, curated approach to gift-giving, her love of calm, grounding colors, and being a meticulous Virgo that does everything with intention. She also has the cutest pup, Arlo, who happens to be the ultimate bandana model.
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
My sun is in Virgo, moon in Sagittarius, and Capricorn rising. My mercury is also in Virgo.
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I’m a brand designer at Nike (more specifically Nike sportswear, the lifestyle side of the Nike). I work on art direction, design, and shaping the visuals of the brand. I definitely think my Virgo side comes into play when I’m designing and problem-solving. I am meticulous and like to be intentional with everything I do, but I'm not afraid to experiment and get messy.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
My Virgo side comes out for specific things - I can be really detail oriented and overly obsessive about one thing, yet loose and gestural with a wabi sabi attitude towards another thing. Virgos have that interesting duality. We are also very attuned to others' feelings and emotions. I know my entire team’s zodiac signs and am very good at guessing signs of new people I meet. It’s a great conversation starter.
I read Co-star often and indulge in lots of astrology memes. I find it fascinating how accurate some of the described attributes are. I am a Virgo and find myself surrounded by many other Virgos, which I love.
What's your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday!)
I love the end of August to September because it’s Virgo season!
What’s the most memorable gift you’ve given recently? How are you approaching gift giving this holiday season?
I like to curate a personalized care package when giving gifts. The boxes usually consist of some self-care items like incense, bath soaks or perfume, and hand-thrown ceramics vessels made by me or some of my favorite artists. With the addition of other sentimental items that would be special to the person I’m gifting to.
If you could give someone one DOOZ piece, who would it be and what would you give them? Would you pick their sign?
I love the Céleste Bag, especially the Capricorn color way. The deep chartreuse color is soothing and grounding – a lovely representation of an earth sign. I’d give it to my friend Joyce who is a Pisces (water sign). It’s a perfect pairing of earth meets fluid water.
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Claire a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:
What were the holidays like for you growing up?
My favorite holiday is Chinese New Year in the beginning of February. I grew up in Taipei, Taiwan until I was 13, so Chinese New Year times are some of my fondest childhood memories. The gathering, food, sounds, smells and celebrations! Feeling sentimental now.
What foods remind you of home?
Soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, chamomile tea and taro pastries.
I wish I could share _____ with human kind.
Connection and true contentment.
To wrap up the Actually Curious portion of this interview, a featured Virgo question: What are three crucial routines that you keep?
Having caffeine everyday, double step cleansing, excessive amount of peppermint herbal oil from Saje on my forehead.
Festive string lights or scented candles?
Definitely scented incenses & candles. There’s always some burning in my house at all times setting the vibes. Current favorites are the Hinoki CBD candle from yield design & wandering moss incense cone from Tennen.
Early bird or night owl?
I’m more of a night owl, although I do enjoy those quiet, peaceful early mornings.
Someone hands you the AUX at a party, what do you play?
It’s up to me by Chaos in the CBD, perfect amalgamation of spunky and therapeutic.
What’s your one beauty secret?
Not a secret, but reminder serum always comes before oil and moisturizer :)
How would you style your DOOZ pieces for a night out?
I’d wear my Virgo Bandana on the neck or on the wrist – or on my pup Arlo since he goes with me everywhere these WFH days!
If you were to select one color from the DOOZ celestial rainbow, what would your power color be and why?
Cancer Dark Teal. It’s soft, gentle and calming, but still holds it own as a color shade.
How do you unwind/decompress at the end of the day?
At night, I like to take some CBD, massage my face with cleansing oil, put on slow tempo soothing music (I have a favorite playlist called Emerald Pool) and burn some incense cones. I am also always using peppermint herbal oil on my temples and forehead (perhaps excessively I may add) for the calming uplifting effect
Any given day is incomplete without…?
Any day is incomplete without a nice cup coffee with lots of added spices or hot tea.
What are your favorite DOOZ pieces and why?
I love the Capricorn Céleste Bag because I just gravitate towards that color and the structural shape. I also love the Virgo Bandana for its versatility.
]]>Michelle Salem is a Scorpio with the coolest style regardless of what coast she's living on. Michelle caught up with The Scope to dish committing her friends' Sun and Rising signs to memory, the impact her birth chart has on her career, and a belief that good energy attracts good things. Amen to to that.
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
Scorpio Sun, Leo Rising, and Capricorn Moon.
Where do you live / where are you from?
I was born in Palo Alto, California, but moved to Miami when I was 11. I then moved to NYC when I was 17, and called it home until just a few months ago. At the moment, I’m living in LA (Venice, specifically).
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I work at a creative agency and also do freelance consulting work. For the longest time, I thought I was a Virgo rising (my mom told me the wrong birth time,) and felt my sometimes overboard attention to detail reflected that. Turns out, I’m a Leo rising...what that means is TBD. My Capricorn moon does make sense though, as I have always taken my career very seriously.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
I don’t check daily horoscopes often, but I do strongly believe that people’s charts affect how they behave with friends, in love, and in life in general. I have all of my friends' signs (and most of their rising signs) committed to memory.
What's your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday)
My birthday and Halloween
Imagine yourself in the future. What will your greatest life accomplishment be?
If in the future I’m a VP at a company I love, a good mom, and have a getaway farm somewhere, I’ll be happy.
Do you believe in magic?
I believe that good energy attracts good things, if that counts!
Festive string lights or scented candles?
Scented candles
Early bird or night owl?
Night owl
How do you unwind/decompress at the end of the day?
A great dinner and a glass (or several) of red wine.
]]>Grace McGrade is a Leo Sun and a full-time astrologer. We're thrilled to announce Grace as our partner astrologer to bring you lots of zodiac fun in 2021. Grace loves writing horoscopes because "it’s like understanding the energetic weather. Knowing the weather helps you know what to wear, and in the same way, knowing astrology helps prepare for my day." Speaking of knowing what to wear, did we mention she has killer style?
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
I have Leo Sun located in the 8th house, meaning that I am creative, dramatic and heart-focused, exploring life themes related to the hidden mysteries of life and personal transformation. I have a Gemini Moon in the 5th house, so I seek comfort through my curiosity and need for both information and play. I am a Sagittarius rising, which makes me idealistic and adventurous.
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I am a full-time astrologer and reiki master, and I think my leonine characteristics exude passion for all I do. I think that my eighth house sun makes me ferociously psychologically analytical, and I crave depth and intimacy in my work. I am obsessed with understanding the divine intelligence working through us, which is so pronounced and apparent when working with the medium of astrology.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
I like to say that the planets don’t cause anything, but they are a mirror for everything. I love getting to write horoscopes because it’s like understanding the energetic weather. Knowing the weather helps you know what to wear, and in the same way, knowing astrology helps me prepare for my day. I can have more empathy for what everyone is undergoing when I understand the astrological climate. Astrology is my life, but not in a superficial way. It grants me access to a higher vantage point.
What's your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday!)
I love Halloween because it occurs at the same time as Samhain, which is when the veils between this realm and the spirit realm where considered to be the most thin. I feel the most connected to nature around this time.
We all miss parties, gatherings, and events of all sorts. If you could plan your ultimate shindig what would it look like? Who would be there? What would go down?
A Midsummer Nights Dream Fairy Tale Soiree at the Doheny Mansion. Fairy costumes are a must. All of my ex lovers are there, including everyone I’ve ever dreamt about. We would paint each other in biodegradable glitter then fight to the death. Or for my hand in marriage.
What’s the most memorable gift you’ve given recently? How are you approaching gift giving this holiday season?
I was given beautiful Tree of Life necklace for my birthday, and that symbol means a lot to me. I am gaudy and theatrical when it comes to giving gifts, and my generosity reaches almost maniacal heights, and becomes a slightly manic, competitive thing. I am going to try to exercise a little more financial practicality this year.
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Grace a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:

Absolutely.
Sagittarius Rising – I feel most free when ______.

The days I check my horoscope, I love going into the details regarding my career or my love life. I also love checking in on the horoscopes of my close ones.

This is a very Leo response, but I really do love my birthday. It’s the one day that can selfishly be all about me and enjoy myself.
We all miss parties, gatherings, and events of all sorts. If you could plan your ultimate shindig what would it look like? Who would be there? What would go down?
My ideal party would be a monochrome dream. I’d invite all my closest friends and have them wear all red. The venue would ideally be red, too, so once you come in you feel like you've escaped reality and entered into another world.
What’s the most memorable gift you’ve given recently? How are you approaching gift giving this holiday season?
My 21st birthday was spent at home because of the pandemic, but my family created a whole day full of activities for me. My favorite was the water balloon fight. The past couple months have been hard for many, so any gift that can bring a smile to their faces and a sense of comfort is a good gift to me.
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Niharika a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:

Libra muse, Izzie Pretz, is a student who loves to socialize and collaborate, in true air sign form. The Scope chatted with Izzie about her celeb crush, post-college goals, and how much she adores holidays (especially those that involve presents).
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
I have a Libra Sun sign, Sagittarius Moon, and Aries Rising! It’s funny because many people have always guessed that I’m an Aries instead of a Libra, and I take it as a compliment because I love Aries girls. I also recently learned that I have all four elements in my astrological chart which I thought was pretty cool.
Where do you live/where are you from?
I live in Tempe, Arizona currently but I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I’m just “working” as a student right now, but I think my sign does play into this. As a Libra, I love collaborating and socializing and making connections. Since I’m a student right now, I’m taking full advantage of the social opportunities in college instead of focusing on finding a job.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
Accessing my full astrology chart and reading about it has really helped me understand myself and figure out the best environments/people to surround myself with that will make me the happiest and most successful person I can be. Personally, I don’t find that my daily horoscopes are ever relevant, but I may just be using an inaccurate app.
What's your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday.)
I love my birthday because I looovee presents and celebrating, but I also love Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s day... I can’t pick a favorite!
We all miss parties, gatherings, and events of all sorts. If you could plan your ultimate shindig what would it look like? Who would be there? What would go down?
I'd get a nice place on the beach with all of my friends and we would eat, go out, shop, swim – just spend time with my friends!
If you could give someone one DOOZ piece, who would it be and what would you give them? Would you pick their sign?
I would love to give my mom the Céleste Bag. We are both really into the trend of small shoulder purses and the Céleste Bag is just the cutest!
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Izzie a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:
What were the holidays like for you growing up?
My family doesn’t really follow traditions. Instead of doing the typical Christmas celebration, we like to go to Hawaii and spend our Christmas on the beach. My family loves doing this and it’s definitely a new tradition I will be carrying on.
What foods remind you of home?
Ever since I was little my parents have made the best rice and beans, and it’s still one of my favorites.
I wish I could share _____ with human kind.
Empathy
Imagine yourself in the future. What will your greatest life accomplishment be?
Career-wise, I would love to start my own fashion company and be able to travel the world. But ultimately, my greatest accomplishment would be to be happy and surrounded by my friends and family.
To wrap up the Actually Curious portion of this interview, a featured Libra question: Who was your childhood crush, and where are they now?
I never really had a childhood crush in school or anything, but I was definitely obsessed with One Direction (specifically Harry Styles) and I still am.
Festive string lights or scented candles?
Definitely scented candles over everything.
Someone hands you the AUX at a party. What do you play?
There’s not one specific song that comes to mind because my favorite songs/artists are always changing, but I love Juice Wrld – it’s always a crowd pleaser.
What’s your one beauty secret?
Less is more. I think using makeup to accentuate your features versus covering them up is the key.
How would you style your DOOZ Bandana for a night out?
I would wear the bandana as a cute shirt with some light-wash jeans and kitten heels or boots, or wear it in my hair with a cool outfit.
If you were to select one color from the DOOZ celestial rainbow, what would your power color be and why?
Definitely Libra or Gemini! Pink and orange are currently my favorite colors. I just love how bright and fun they are!
What are your favorite DOOZ pieces and why?
Either the Libra Céleste Bag or the Libra/Gemini Duo Belt. I’m in love with the colors of both and an outfit isn’t complete without a little purse.

The Scope sat down with Libra #DOOZMUSE, Layla-Jane Saad, to chat about connection, authenticity, and how astrology memes brighten up any given day. Join us to get to know Layla-Jane and dish about her candle obsession and 7-step skincare routine (big time Libra vibes).
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
I am a Libra Sun, Virgo Moon, and an Aquarius Rising.
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I currently work in a sales / customer service role at a luxury health club and I'm also an online content creator! My sign(s) play a massive role in my work. I meet new people on the daily with my job and foster connections. Being able to get along with all different personalities is crucial and I’ll thank my Libra stars for that one.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
I may not read daily horoscopes, but my daily dose of astrology memes really makes each day a little lighter. Astrology is an amazing conversation starter for me and I love connecting with both those who know everything about their chart and those who know nothing!
What's your favorite holiday? (Yes, your birthday counts as a holiday!)
Listen, I have never considered my birthday a holiday until this very moment. You said it, not me.
We all miss parties, gatherings, and events of all sorts. If you could plan your ultimate shindig what would it look like? Who would be there? What would go down?
I need to hop on a flight with a handful of my closest girls and spend some time in the palm trees and sunshine with a perfect blend of sunrise beach runs and late night rooftop bars.
What’s the most memorable gift you’ve given recently? How are you approaching gift giving this holiday season?
Oh this is a good one. My birthday has just passed! The Sparknotes version: I was lead through an hour-long Higher Self Meditation with a Spiritual Life Coach last year and when it came to visualizing myself at the end, I saw myself in a bright orange dress. I don't think I've owned anything orange pretty much ever. For my birthday this year, I was gifted a beautiful orange dress to put on for a photoshoot so I could ALWAYS see myself as my highest, happiest self. *wipes tears*
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Layla-Jane a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:
What were the holidays like for you growing up?
I actually come from a very small family, which has its pros and cons. Always a small gathering, lots of quality time, and competitive board games. My mom owned a catering business, so we always had the most decadent meals and amazing desserts!
What foods remind you of home?
Again, my mom’s business makes this a hard one! I grew up with so many options and creative dishes. We always had these butter cookies with a powdered sugar glaze that we made with different cookie cutters for each holiday – Valentine’s day, St. Patty's, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It was always my favorite when she made them!
I wish I could share _____ with human kind.
True connection and deep understanding.
Imagine yourself in the future. What will your greatest life accomplishment be?
If I am living my most authentic, present self and inspiring/encouraging others to do the same.
To wrap up the Actually Curious portion of this interview, a featured Libra question: Who was your childhood crush, and where are they now?
Singular? Crush? Only one? Justin Bieber is doing pretty well for himself.
If you could give someone one DOOZ piece, who would it be and what would you give them? Would you pick their sign?
Oh yes! I’d give my fiery Aries BFF the Aries Céleste Bag for all her adventures.
Festive string lights or scented candles?
Scented candles, but an overwhelming amount of them.
Someone hands you the AUX at a party, what do you play?
Music that's probably wayyyy too slow to fit the vibe, or a bunch of music I can claim no one has never heard before and make sure they never forget I was the one who showed it to them (hello, Aquarius Rising).
What’s your one beauty secret?
Facial oils! My routine would not be complete without topping off with a hydrating oil. Some of my favorite are Chia oil, Rosehip oil, and Jojoba oil!
How would you style your DOOZ pieces for a night out?
A white mini dress with the Libra Céleste Bag. Black leather pants with my Aries Duo Belt and a black tube top. My Aquarius Bandana with a black mini dress and white booties. *heart eye emojis*
If you were to select one color from the DOOZ celestial rainbow, what would your power color be and why?
Aquarius baby! That royal blue is electric. It is powerful enough to be bold, but still calm, cool, and collected.
How do you unwind/decompress at the end of the day?
A 7-step skin care routine, 4853943 candles, and Eucalyptus in my diffuser.
Any given day is incomplete without…?
Coffee and listing 1 thing you are grateful for.
What are your favorite DOOZ pieces and why?
I absolutely love the Zodiac Bandana because it is so versatile. It completes any look! I also love all of the Aquarius collection because that color is a SHOW STOPPER. I live for it.

It’s not exactly an astrologically *breezy* moment in time right now. Good old Mercury retrograde is (somehow) back again—at least for the last time this year!—and we’re also swimming through the intense and shadowy waters of Scorpio season. Additionally, we’re approaching a powerful New Moon on November 14th that’s also in Scorpio, amplifying these heavy, mystical tides. The cherry atop this somewhat chaotic sundae is the upcoming presidential election, which is emotionally weighty in more ways than I can count. All of this is to say, you deserve a deep breath so take one with me right now.
Now, what does this all translate to? The current astrology likely suggests that you’re not having the easiest go of it right now. Your mood might be more tense than usual, you may require more sleep and alone time than you’re typically accustomed to, and some of your behaviors might be driving you insane—like losing your keys or regrettably texting your ex.
Thankfully, DOOZ is here to save the day. The most important thing to remember about “tougher” astrology is that it doesn’t = bad. It simply asks you to pay attention to the energies of the moment and adjust accordingly so that you can work with what the cosmos are doling out. (Or protect yourself, if that feels right, too).
Keep reading for a dive into the moment’s current astrology, plus tangible ways to work with—not against—the present energies for the most possible harmony.
Scorpio is a water sign associated with mystery, depth, and intensity. Highly emotional yet fiercely secretive, Scorpio is perennially ~in their feels~ so you may be personally picking up on that energy over the coming weeks. Famously, Scorpio season always falls during Halloween/Samhain, so even in these days and weeks following the end of October, the spooky, otherworldly vibes remain. As Chani Nicholas so perfectly states about this season, “Scorpio knows that decay is just as important as growth in nature's great cycles.”
It’s also crucial to note that an unbalanced Scorpio can be jealous, resentful, and spiteful, wielding it’s sharp, stinging tail. I share this because you should be extra mindful that these energies may be present in yourself and others right now. (Especially as it relates to the election, since a certain racist, orange-tinted official has admitted that he won’t accept a loss with grace or peace.)
Not so fast — before you breathe a sigh of relief when you note that Mercury Retrograde ends tomorrow, keep in mind that you will still be influenced by its shadow period (the “retroshade”) for up to two weeks after it ends. According to the beloved Astro Twins, “after a planet is retrograde, it goes through a period called ‘stationing,’ where it’s adjusting to the U-turn. We may feel its effects ramping up or winding down like the lingering fumes of a car with a bad exhaust system.”
What exactly does that mean for you? Essentially, you should still be on your Merc Rx toes and stay vigilant until November 17th. I wrote a post about Mercury Retrograde a while back—that covers what it means, what to pay attention to, the positives of this astrological moment, plus things to lean into and avoid for less bumpiness—and it’s still a great resource I’d recommend as you navigate the retroshade. Refer to that post plus the action plan below, and you’ll hopefully sail as smoothly as possible through the choppier waters of the next few weeks.
Depending on your time zone in the U.S., November’s New Moon either arrives the evening of November 14th, or the wee early morning hours of November 15th. New Moons bring a feeling of fresh starts and an opportunity to create new goals for yourself. They’re the perfect time for manifestation and intention-setting, whereas Full Moons offer a better opportunity for release, closing chapters, and moving on. When in the sign of Scorpio, we can use this psychic New Moon to manifest goals surrounding power, transformation, and intimacy.
As a final reminder, if you haven’t voted already, please get out there and cast your ballot. Triple (yes, I mean triple!) check your voting plan to ensure you have every detail in place. Additionally, be prepared for the reality that a conclusion about the election is unlikely to come quickly or straightforwardly. That said, be sure to take good care of yourself this Scorpio season. This is an intense moment to be living through but we’ll get through it together.
– Lauren Rubin
Atiya Walcott is a YouTuber and Cancer Sun living in Los Angeles, CA with her fellow water sign fiancé. Atiya takes The Scope through her day as a *self-proclaimed* highly emotional person. A typical day for her is packed with journaling, filming, laughing, crying, and sharing it all with YouTube.
What are your big 3 – Sun, Moon, and Rising signs?
Sun: Cancer | Moon: Aries | Rising: Virgo
I learned so much more about myself when I learned I was an Aries moon. So many of my personality traits and moods are Aries.
3 adjectives to describe you?
Dramatic | Funny | Loyal
Where do you live/where are you from?
I live in Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in Princeton, New Jersey.
What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I am a YouTuber. Without a doubt my sign plays into my career. Be it what videos I am inspired to make, or the moments I randomly burst into tears while filming. I get to design my own days and I love that. I design days suited to the very dramatic water sign that is me—crying, journaling, laughing in the name of YouTube.
Do you gravitate towards certain signs as friends/collaborators/partners?
I wouldn’t say that I do, but as I said my fiancé is a Pisces. Other water signs tend to understand me best because they can empathize with my emotional states.
What’s a typical morning look like for you? How does astrology play into that?
I feel a little too seen by this question. I am an incredibly emotional—can’t stress that enough—water sign, who spends their mornings, afternoons, and evenings journaling.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
Astrology doesn’t impact my daily life, but my horoscope is the first place I turn whenever I am going through a heightened emotional state. As a Cancer this used to be all of the time, but as I continue to get older and more mature, I have found ways to temper the water sign in me. I am slightly less dramatic than I once was. Slightly. I tend to check the sign compatibility between me and my romantic partners, and now I am very happily engaged to a Pisces.
What does the work day look like for you? Does your zodiac sign help you out?
I set my own work schedule. My days are filled with filming, editing, working out, cooking, writing, and creating. Simply, I spend my days being creative and sharing those creations with others.
If you were to select one color from the DOOZ celestial rainbow, what would your power color be and why?
Red. My birth stone is a Ruby. I am an Aries moon, and the red Aries Sweater-T speaks to me!
If you could give someone one DOOZ piece, who would it be and what would you give them? Would you pick their sign?
If I could give someone one DOOZ piece, it would be a Leo Bandana for my little sister. She is such a Leo, and she could style a bandana 15 different ways.

Holiday’s were always spent at my Aunt’s house with all of my cousins. I am so nostalgic for that era of my life.
What foods remind you of home?
Kit Kat bars remind me of home! My great grandmother, Charlotte, would always sneak them to me as a child before she passed. I’d always save the foil they used to come wrapped in.
I wish I could share _____ with human kind.
I wish I could share laughter with human kind. If you can laugh together, you can do anything together.
Imagine yourself in the future. What will your greatest life accomplishment be?

My childhood best friends were Elena and Jevon. I think they are in New Jersey, haha! We fell out of contact when I moved, pre-social media era.
How do you style your DOOZ piece(s) and how do you feel when wearing your sign?
Check out my YouTube video to see how I style my pieces! They make me feel groovy.
How would you style your DOOZ piece(s) for a night out?
I would style my DOOZ, Aries Sweater-T, with boot-cut flare jeans and 70's style platform boots. I’d wear long hair with a middle part and of course a bunch of earrings and rings--no necklace. I dress like a completely different person every time I leave the house, so I’d probably style it completely differently the next night!
What books are on your nightstand right now?
‘Waking Up, A Guide to Spirituality without Religion’ by Sam Harris
‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne
‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen
‘Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup’ by John Carreyrou

Where do you live/where are you from?

What do you do for work? Does your sign play into your career at all?
I’m a professional photographer and I own a production company with my business partner. Being a Taurus means I’m very strong/stubborn and that definitely comes into play when I’m on set and dealing with clients. Luckily my business partner is a Libra and she’s constantly keeping things balanced and organized. We are a great match, and a ton of fun to be with on set!
Do you gravitate towards certain signs as friends/collaborators/partners?
I tend to gravitate towards Libras, I realized I had a lot of birthdays to celebrate in September and then it clicked!
What’s a typical morning look like for you? How does astrology play into that?
A typical morning for me starts with rolling out of bed and checking my email. A lot of our clients are on the East Coast so we usually have a few urgent messages to answer. Once that is taken care of I meditate for twenty minutes, it zens me out and I feel clearer and ready to take on the day after meditation. Post meditation I do my skincare routine while blasting whatever rap song is my current obsession, I then try and get a workout in. If I don’t work out in the morning I usually get too caught up with my day to fit it in later.
How, if at all, does astrology impact your daily life? Do you read your horoscope?
I don’t read my horoscope daily, occasionally I will check it out! I love to see what it has to say.
What does the work day look like for you? Does your zodiac sign help you out?
Every day is different, when I’m not on set I work from home and take calls with clients, create mood boards and plan our future shoots. I love to do lists, they are so gratifying at the end of the day being able to check off all the things you did!
How do you style the Taurus Bandana and Belt? How do you feel when wearing your sign?
I adore the Taurus bandana and belt - they are stunning! I styled the bandana as a cover up for a day at the beach. I got so many compliments! It paired so well with my bikini and was easy to throw on, it also looked so chic. I styled the belt with my favorite redone jeans, a white ribbed top and a snakeskin leather jacket. It is such a statement piece, I would easily wear it every day with a simple outfit to give it some character!
DOOZ partnered with Actually Curious to get to know Delaney a little bit deeper. The following are a few questions from their thoughtful, question-based card game:
When do you feel most secure?
